An Heirloom Classic reimagined using Moda Shibori Indigo dyed blue 100% Quality Cotton fabrics by Debbie Maddy of Moda Fabrics.
Inspired by an Antique Irish Chain Quilt from 1897 this quilt kit is made with Moda Shibori Fabrics and quilted using 100% Wool Batting and a swirl, snowflake-themed pantograph. This quilt has at least 3,007 pieces! It is a one-of-a-kind quilt sure to bring joy for generations.
I found an example of this quilt at a show. It was from late 1897 and used white and dark blue fabrics. (I’ve included pictures of the beautiful antique quilt)
I just had to update it a little using Shibori and Indigo Blues by Moda Fabrics. I finished off the quilt with a snowflake-style motif on the Long Arm. If you would like a kit cut for you, here it is!
The backing is Shibori fabric by Debbie Maddy for Moda Fabrics or I can give you a choice of fabrics used on the top for the backing. Just ask to see what’s in stock as new Moda Shibori fabric comes in all the time.
Complete hand-machine pieced with the same for binding. Washed one time with your specific laundry detergent and dried in the dryer for 30 minutes on medium and then hung out to dry to complete. Very simple care to keep your quilt in lasting condition.
100% High-Quality Cotton top, binding, and backing with a 100% Wool batting
